Type J Thermocouple
Type J Thermocouple (Iron/Constantan) is one of the more common thermocouples. It has a smaller temperature range and a shorter lifespan at higher temperatures than the Type K. It is equivalent to the Type K in terms of expense and reliability.
|Type J Temperature Range|
|Thermocouple Grade Wire||–346°F to 1,400°F (–210°C to 760°C)|
|Extension Wire||32°F to 392°F (0 to 200°C)|
|Type J Accuracy|
|Standard||+/- 2.2°C or +/- .75%|
|Extension Wire||+/- 1.1°C or 0.4%|
Consideration for bare wire type J thermocouple applications: The Type J Is Well Suited To Oxidizing Atmospheres.
