Type J Thermocouple
Type J Thermocouple (Iron/Constantan) is one of the more common thermocouples. It has a smaller temperature range and a shorter lifespan at higher temperatures than the Type K. It is equivalent to the Type K in terms of expense and reliability.
|Type J Temperature Range
|Thermocouple Grade Wire
||–346°F to 1,400°F (–210°C to 760°C)
||32°F to 392°F (0 to 200°C)
|Type J Accuracy
||+/- 2.2°C or +/- .75%
||+/- 1.1°C or 0.4%
Consideration for bare wire type J thermocouple applications: The Type J Is Well Suited To Oxidizing Atmospheres.
